Research

Dr. D'Ovidio's laboratory focuses on genetics and pharmacogenetics within lung transplantation as determinant of precision medicine targeting post-transplant clinical outcomes. Lung defense mechanisms and identifying biomarkers of lung injury are at the core of our research scope and of organ specific innate immunity responses in lung transplantation. Our work also delves into ex vivo lung perfusion methodologies to address donor lung regenerative medicine through the utilization of nanovehicles drug delivery treatments using nanoparticles.
