Food as Medicine Wellness Seminars

Food choices are the most important cause of poor health in the United States. Studies have shown that spending even a few minutes talking about food in clinic visits can make a big impact on patients’ health.  Our physicians and nutritionists have put together an interactive speaking series to help you make healthy, satisfying food decisions.

Health Corps

The Department of Surgery helps to fund Health Corps, a community outreach effort modeled on the Peace Corps. Health Corps volunteers receive a two-year stipend to educate children about healthy living. They visit schools across the nation, teaching about nutrition, mental health, exercise, and overall awareness of the value and power of our bodies and minds.
