Columbia’s Division of Bariatric Surgery is dedicated to leading the field of weight loss surgery through top-quality clinical care, academic excellence, and pioneering research.

Patient Care

At our Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery, Columbia’s Bariatric Surgery Division helps patients permanently lose excess weight not only through surgery, but also through personalized care. We offer multiple types of surgical procedures, depending on an individual’s needs and goals, including both traditional treatments like gastric bypass surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques. Our patients also get access to holistic weight-loss programs for long-term, healthy lifestyle choices, as well as educational seminars and support groups.
